From distinctive stores and specialty shops to large-scale shopping malls (including the largest mall in Georgia) and bargain outlets, the retail sector continues to grow by leaps and bounds, producing nearly 10 percent of Georgia’s entire total retail sales.

In addition to the major department stores and malls such as Gwinnett Place Mall, the Mall of Georgia, and the upscale outlet mall, Discover Mills, there are also hundreds of locally-owned specialty shops, outlet centers and antique stores dotted all over the county. Discover Mills has brought to Gwinnett the concept of “shoppertainment.” In 2006, family entertainment giant “Medieval Times” opened its ninth facility there.

Dining in Gwinnett is as varied as the shopping, with everything from elegant gourmet restaurants to the world-renowned Varsity with its chili dogs and Frosted Orange drinks.
