Gwinnett offers something for seniors from all walks of life and draws them together with a myriad of activities.
Gwinnett boasts more than 30 public and private golf courses, more than 32 county parks, nature trails, tennis courts, gymnasiums, senior citizen centers, volleyball, basketball, and a number of playgrounds for children and grandchildren.
Many seniors in Gwinnett choose to live in independent-living communities where they have their own maintenance-free cottage, townhome or apartment, but are surrounded by services geared specifically to their needs: community rooms, clubhouses, communal dining halls; on-site libraries, hair salons and other services. A trained staff plans trips, activities, and monitors the health needs of the community. In all, these seniors have the independence they would have in their own free-standing homes, but without the hassles of home maintenance.
Additionally, many of Gwinnett’s independent living facilities also offer assisted living care and even nursing care for those times when a person needs more help with daily tasks and personal care.
