Small Business
The Chamber promotes an entrepreneurial environment and small business growth through the following services: publications, seminars, expos, Drugs Don't Work, executive roundtables, small business development programs, leads groups and others. The naming of and recognition of Gwinnett's "Small Business Person of the Year" is one of the Chamber's most notable events all year. In the Chamber's headquarter facility there is a Small Business Resource Center that will allow the Chamber to take its small business services to a new level. All of these efforts helped Gwinnett become the largest county in Georgia to be named the Governor's prestigous "Entrepreneurial-Friendly" community.
Membership Services
The Chamber recruits new members, gets members involved and coordinates new member orientations. We produce a valuable membership directory and offer a member-to-member discount program to encourage members to do business with other Chamber members. The Chamber promotes networking opportunities through Business After Hours, Membership Luncheons, Network Gwinnett (weekly leads groups), the Ambassador Council, educational seminars and clinics and much more.
Education
This is a top priority of the Chamber and, through our Education Committee and Sub-Committees, Principal for a Day program, the Partnership Gwinnett initiative, support of student leadership programs and much more, the Chamber is aggressively working to improve education, provide life-long learning in Gwinnett and grow a stronger workforce for us all. The Gwinnett Chamber has been strongly involved and committed to bringing the four-year college to Gwinnett, Georgia Gwinnett College.
Economic Development
The Chamber works to facilitate broad-based, high-quality economic growth that will increase job opportunities and expand the commercial tax base. This is accomplished through recruiting new businesses to the county and helping existing industry expand. The Chamber also offers comprehensive research capabilities, relocation and expansion assistance, demographic services and more. The results of our efforts have helped Gwinnett lead the state of Georgia in job creation for the past five years.
Governmental Affairs
The Chamber staff and its Board and Governmental Affairs Committee advocate the Gwinnett business community's position to government, lobbying on key issues and monitoring Gwinnett’s legislative delegation, thereby keeping the Gwinnett area a business-friendly environment. The committee also works year-round to promote the legislative priorities that support Partnership Gwinnett. These include relieving traffic congestion, revitializing neighborhoods, encouraging smart land use planning, creating more grrenspace and parks, and more. The Governmental Affairs Committee meets bi-weekly during the legislative session and monthly throughout the rest of the year.
Leadership
Twenty five years ago the Chamber created and continues to support the highly successful Leadership Gwinnett program, helping to grow strong leadership for many years to come. The Chamber also is intricately involved with other programs around the county, such as Student Leadership, and Neighborhood Leadership Institute. The Chamber's Ambassador Council offers leadership and support to the Chamber staff in areas such as member retention, event management, new member support and more.
